Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are the most common mesenchymal neoplasm of the digestive tract. Arising from the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC), GIST can be found in any hollow organ of the digestive system. We present a case of a 64-year-old female patient with CT diagnosed large tumor 20 x 18 cm in size along the greater curvature of the stomach. Subtotal gastrectomy was performed on the patient. The result of the permanent histological examination proved that it was GIST of the stomach, positive for CD34 and CD117.
