Abstract

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a life-threatening condition that, with the improvement of endovascular treatment, is increasingly treated by endovascular endograft placement (EVAR). However, open surgery is still the gold standard in the treatment of this disease. The mortality rate in AAA rupture is extremely high with 40-70% perioperative mortality and 80-90% overall mortality. Therefore, endovascular treatment of this condition is more commonly preferred. We present a case of a 66-year-old woman with retained AAA rupture who was treated by EVAR.
