INFECTIOUS ENDOCARDITIC OF CARDIAC DEVICE CAUSED BY STAPHYLOCOCCUS EPIDERMIDIS – CLINICAL CASE

We present a clinical case of a patient with a proven infectious endocarditis of the cardiac device (CDE) caused by Staphylococcus epidermidis, treated with antibiotics by antibiogram and referred for removal of the pacemaker leads. The patient has a known dilated cardiomyopathy, approved for heart transplantation and included in the waiting list. The purpose of the present case is to raise awareness among the clinicians about CDE in patients with cardiac devices and persistent fever.
